Hazelnut Growers, Managers and Consultants,

A reminder of the importance of applying copper sprays on young orchards to protect against bacterial blight this fall. We have been seeing some devastating impacts of the disease in new orchards in the last few years.

Information about bacterial blight can be found in the disease management handbook: https://pnwhandbooks.org/plantdisease/host-disease/hazelnut-corylus-avellana-bacterial-blight

Also see the hazelnut PMG: https://catalog.extension.oregonstate.edu/sites/catalog/files/project/pdf/em8328.pdf

Below/attached is a flyer for an upcoming workshop on the topic of bacterial blight for Oct 29.  We hope to offer 2 core credits.

Best regards,

Nik
